Lake Jodeco!!

I'm here in my new area, Lake Jodeco. It is south of Atlanta. I live in Jonesboro. My new companion is Elder Jones. Elder Jones was in the same district as me in the mtc in Mexico. We have a car and our area is almost as big as Sweetwater, but not quite.
The branch here is amazing! I'm so impressed at how well everyone works and gets things done. I love all the members in Sweetwater but there were only a few people that did anything. Here, everyone's works hard and helps out. It is great. Elder Jones also has a really good work ethic, which is something I am exceedingly grateful for. I've found that I have gotten a little bit lazy in some ways, which isn't good especially on a mission. Elder Jones knows how to work, I love it. He's also helping me out a lot with exercising in the morning because he knows a lot of great work-outs.
I've really enjoyed meeting a lot of new people. Elder Jones loves working with families so we have a lot of great families we are working with. I'm super excited! I also like the way Elder Jones teaches, some things are a little crazy but he gets people involved and he is focused on really helping them with their conversion.

Transfers...

These week is Transfer week and we got the call that I am leaving the Sweetwater area. I have been here for about 7 months, so it wasn't much of a suprise. It is hard however becasue I have gotten close to a lot of the members and I am going to miss them. As well I am really sad that I won't be able to be here for Jeobanni and Celeste's wedding or their baptism. I want to be there so bad. But change is always good and it is really healthy.

The other day Victor invited us to one of his friends birthday parties. There was a lot of people there that we had never met and they were all amazed at how well we spoke spanish. It was funny becasue I remember that at the begining of my mission I would've given my right arm for someone to be sincerly impressed with my spanish. People would tell my companion how good his spanish was and I thought, if I can only get to that point I will be happy. Spanish was so hard. But now that I am there I have a different perspective. I see how far I have come, and I see how much more I need to go. I now have new goals and dreams.
Don't keep waiting for the future to be happy. Be Happy Now. If you are not happy now you won't be happy then unless you make a change in yourself.

Mothers Day :)

Mothers Day is a very special day! As a missionary it is even more special. I love my Mom very much.

We had a Mothers Day activity/fiesta. It was a lot of fun! When I get home I want to go to a spanish ward becasue they know how to party. They are also really good at dancing. They are just natural at it. Jeobanni and Celeste came. I think they throughly enjoyed themselves. I told Jeobanni, "see, you two could have a wedding here just like this." He laughed and told Celeste, because she couldn't hear me, and she got a big grin on her face and lifted up her hand to show us the ring she had on her finger! We are super excited! They also talked to her son on skype the other day. We haven't talked to her since but I'm hoping that he gave them a lot of encouragement.

The gospel is true. We live in such a wonderful time! We are living through the Restoration! Right now we are the Lords army and we are spreading the good news of the Gospel to everyone. The Church of Jesus Christ has been restored! We have living day Prophets and Apostles! We have living day revelation and miracle! We have Priesthood Power, the power of God and the Authority to use it. What a Marvelous Work and a Wonder!! May we share it with everyone!

I love you all!

Work out your salvation

Elder Pace and I are getting along really well. He has a brilliant mind. He just sucks up knowledge like a sponge. It's incredible. I've been learning so much with him and asking him a lot of questions. It's fun. We found a text book in our appartment about Church History. So we've started reading it during our lunch time. I've never felt so hungry for knowledge! I just want to learn everything! The time we are given to study each morning is never enough. He also bought a ukulele this week and we've had a lot of fun singing together and we wrote a little cheesy song for all the sisters in the branch for mothers day. I really want to learn how to play a guitar as well. Piano too, but I will have to do that after my mission.

Update on Celeste, she is not married. So right now her and Jeobanni are praying and talking things through. Hopefully we will be planning a wedding soon! I'm super excited and Jeobanni actully seemed to be happy with the idea. So, we are praying hard for them.

I wish to share a scripture that has had a great impact on me. It is Mormon 9:27-28

27 O then despise not, and wonder not, but hearken unto the words of the Lord, and ask the Father in the name of Jesus for what things soever ye shall stand in need. aDoubt not, but be believing, and begin as in times of old, and bcome unto the Lord with all your cheart, and dwork out your own salvation with fear and trembling before him.

28 Be awise in the days of your bprobation; strip yourselves of all uncleanness; ask not, that ye may consume it on your clusts, but ask with a firmness unshaken, that ye will yield to no temptation, but that ye will serve the true and dliving God.

I believe it was David A. Bednar that expalined the way in which we should Fear God this past General Conference. He told a story of how he had broken a window or something like that. When he was told that he had to go and saw sorry for what he had done he was filled with fear. I believe that we have all been in like situations and have felt that fear. And so now I ask, what will we feel when we stand before God? Alma asked us this question when he said in Alma 5:19:

19 I say unto you, can ye look up to God at that day with a pure heart and clean hands? I say unto you, can you look up, having the aimage of God engraven upon your countenances?
When I stand before God at the judgment day I want my hands to be clean and my heart to be pure. It isn't easy to do everything right and to be perfect, in fact it is imposible. But if we work out our salvation with fear and trembling before him we will always remember him. We will ask ourselves, what would he have me do? If I choose to do this, how will I feel when I stand before him?

Those are some things I've been thinking about lately, and I've never been so grateful for our Savior Jesus Christ. Becasue only through him are we able to clean our hands and purify our hearts.

I love you! Have a great week! Happy Mothers Day!!
